Hi neighbors,

The council meeting took place tonight, and the decision was made to pause Flock implementation. Mountlake Terrace, you showed up, and you showed up strong. This pause happened because you spoke up.

I was sad to be away on a previously planned business trip, so I could not attend or tune in live. Instead, I am watching your testimony late at night from a hotel room in Denver. Coincidentally, Denver voted earlier this year to reject the renewal of their own contract with Flock. That feels like a good sign.

My YouTube feed cut out before I could finish watching the discussion, but believe the council also showed support for reinstating the Community Policing Advisory Board, a step that will restore an important layer of oversight and community voice in public safety decisions.

Thank you for caring about our community. Thank you for caring about your neighbors.

This fight is not over. There has been no commitment to cancel. But tonight was a victory. I will share a fuller recap of the meeting in the coming days. For now, I am turning in inspired and full of hope.

Keep resisting, Mountlake Terrace.

Dustin
