Hi neighbors,

I want to invite you to a special event happening right here in Mountlake Terrace. On Thursday, October 24, the new North Sound Bicycle Advocates (NSBA) will host our first fundraising dinner, Pedal & Plate, at the Lake Ballinger Center.

We’re thrilled to welcome world traveler and storyteller Willie Weir as our headliner. Willie has biked across the globe and has an incredible gift for weaving humor, heart, and humanity into his tales. Whether you ride every day or haven’t been on a bike in years, you’ll enjoy his stories.

Dinner includes lasagna, salad, and dessert prepared by local caterer Jim Staigner, plus two drinks courtesy of Eleven Winery and Fremont Brewing. We’ll also have a dessert auction featuring homemade and donated treats.

🎟️ Tickets are $60 and support NSBA’s work to make biking safer and more connected across north King and south Snohomish counties. You can grab yours here:

About NSBA

North Sound Bicycle Advocates is a new, all-volunteer nonprofit rooted right here in South Snohomish/North King County. We’re working to:

  • Build better bike networks: advocate for safer roads and connected trails in Edmonds, Shoreline, Lynnwood, and MLT.

  • Share cycling skills: support education programs for kids, like the Let’s Go curriculum.

  • Bridge the gap: push for a solution to the “missing link” in the Interurban Trail at SR 104 between Shoreline and Edmonds.

This dinner is our first big fundraiser, and it’s what will allow us to move from vision into action.

If you care about safer streets, stronger trails, and a more bike-friendly North Sound, please join us for this milestone evening. I’ll be there, and I’d love to see some familiar Mountlake Terrace neighbors too.

Thanks for considering—and for supporting the work of building a better place to ride.

Until next time,
Dustin
