Hi neighbors,
I’m going to keep this short but unfortunately not sweet.
Today, January 15, there were several confirmed and unconfirmed reports of ICE activity in south Snohomish County, including Mountlake Terrace near Grocery Outlet and Cinebarre.
Many of you have been following what has unfolded in Minneapolis over the past week. It is easy to feel helpless in moments like this, but I want you to know something important: you have power, and you have a role to play in protecting yourself and your neighbors.
Here are a few small but meaningful asks.
1. Save this hotline number and email right now.
1-844-724-3737
[email protected]
This is the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network rapid response hotline. If you see or suspect immigration enforcement activity, call, text, or email WAISN as soon as possible so they can begin monitoring the situation. If you are unsure whether something is immigration enforcement, default to reporting it. There are trained teams ready to investigate. You can also share photos or videos.
2. If you have the capacity, consider rapid response training.
If you are not part of a vulnerable community and have some time, I strongly encourage taking WAISN’s rapid response training and joining a local team. I did so recently and highly recommend it. This is neighbors looking out for neighbors, in real time.
3. If you are able, please donate to WAISN.
Their work is critical right now, and resources matter.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.
Dustin
