Hi neighbors,
A quick note today about something hopeful taking shape at Ballinger Park and an opportunity for you to get involved.

Last week the Mountlake Terrace Community Foundation presented the food forest and organic garden proposal to the City Council. The room was full, and the presentation walked through how a food forest works, why biodiversity matters, and how these spaces create long term resilience and open harvest for the community. The next step is a volunteer kickoff meeting, and if you have even a little curiosity about gardening, sustainability or community building, this is a great moment to jump in.
Food Forest Volunteer Meeting
Monday December 8
6:00 to 7:30 PM
Mountlake Terrace Library, large meeting room
Snacks and drinks provided
RSVPs to [email protected] are helpful but not required
This meeting will be hands on. Small groups will talk about what they want to learn in the food forest, ideas for fundraising and community events, and different ways to participate. You don’t need gardening experience. Just bring interest and a willingness to help shape something new for our city.
