Hi neighbors,
It has been a busy few weeks. Between work travel and family life, I have not had much time to write, but I wanted to check in.
There is nothing new to report on Flock. Everything is still on hold while the lawsuits in Stanwood and Sedro-Woolley move through the courts. I assume the Community Policing Advisory Board topic will return to Council soon.
To those who have emailed me recently, thank you. I have read every message and appreciate each one. I will get back to you soon.
In the meantime, please remember to turn in your ballot. To be brief, I am supporting Sam Doyle and William Paige for City Council. Flock is an important issue, but it’s also a test of how our council members may approach related topics in the future.
I hope some of you made it to the No Kings protests yesterday. My family joined the one in Edmonds, and it was powerful to see so many people standing together. Hearing Sam Doyle speak on behalf of Mountlake Terrace was a proud moment.
Everything with the Trump administration seems to get worse and more cruel by the week, but I take heart knowing there are people here who still show up, still care, and still believe in doing what’s right. Be good to each other and keep resisting however you can.
You might not hear from me for a bit so until next time, whenever that may be,
Dustin
